A personal letter...

And it's nice to see you again!

Hi friends 👋🏻

I’ve had family visiting these last two weeks, so I took the rare opportunity to be offline. Present. Recharging. And - let’s be honest - not on LinkedIn. 😄

While Recruiter & Chief has also taken a little break, I’ve been thinking deeply about where it’s headed. So I wanted to write you a quick, open letter to share what’s on my mind.

I’ve never been the “build in public” type. But I’ve been inspired by people who are - who let their communities into the messiness of what they’re building.

So here’s my version of that.

Where we’ve been

Recruiter & Chief started as a side project.

A way to share ideas, stay sharp, and connect with other recruiters building their businesses.

It’s been a joy. And while it’s still just me, squeezing this in between client work and family life, it’s one of the most impactful things I do.

So far, it’s helped me:

  • Connect with dozens of you via email, DMs, 1:1 calls and workshops.

  • Think out loud about what it means to build a strong, independent recruiting business

  • Spark early ideas for tools or services our community might actually need

But one thing I keep circling back to is this:

👉🏻 I want this newsletter to do a job for you.

👉🏻 Not just interesting. Not just thoughtful.

👉🏻 But be extremely impactful to you and your business.

TLDR: I want this newsletter to help you solve a problem, unlock something in your business, or give you a competitive edge you wouldn’t have had otherwise.

New destinations

Right now, I’m exploring a few different paths for what Recruiter & Chief could grow into.

With more focus, this newsletter can be more impactful.

And I’d love your input as I figure out what’s next.

The following are a few ideas I’m considering:

Option 1: New Tech

I will break down one tool or workflow each week, explain how it fits into a our day-to-day work, and help you decide if it’s worth your time.

I’ll do the demos, try the tech, talk to the team building it and give you my two cents, honestly.

And secure exclusive discounts!

Option 2: BD + Marketing

Focus on helping you win new business. That includes messaging, drip campaigns, BD tech, content, marketing, events, networking and more.

This could help you build a real system, not just one-off wins.

Option 3: Perfecting The Search

Focus on how to optimize searches. Sourcing, engaging candidates, interviewing, managing pipelines, navigating tricky situations and closing offers.

Go from intake call to signed offer more efficiently with greater confidence.

Option 4: Community + Accountability

This one is different. I would create a live, opt-in community of independent recruiters who meet regularly to share wins, challenges, and keep each other inspired and accountable.

The newsletter will become our community bulletin board - featuring highlights, asks, goal sharing, and business-building insights.

What resonates with YOU?

All of these topics get me excited. But I want to choose one that serves the most important person here: you.
